All I want for Christmas...

Lucy bounded off the school bus smiling from ear to ear.  She very much wanted me to notice that she had lost her top front tooth at school.  It came home in the treasured "tooth box" from the nurse.  This is only her fourth tooth she's lost.  She has been dying to lose one at school!

Christmas Program

This past Sunday was the Christ Victorious Christmas Program that the girls have been practicing for in Sunday School.  Emma and Lucy each had a short speaking part.  Emma and Lucy both did a great job remembering their parts.  Sophie even participated (a little) with the preschoolers!  On Saturday at the rehearsal, I couldn't even get her to go up with the other kids.  She sat on my lap in the audience.

Fifth Grade Band Concert

We enjoyed the first fifth grade band concert last week.  Emma has been playing the percussion this fall.  For this concert, she played the Marimba for all the pieces.  (looks like a large xylophone)  Her good friend Leah is also in the percussion section, as well as another friend Dylan.  There were 16 pieces played at the concert.  (All were very short!)  We look forward to the Spring concert to see how much they have all changed!

Thanksgiving Day 2011

One of us didn't want to have our picture taken...

We spent Thanksgiving at Adam and Amy's house.  The girls spent time coloring in a huge Christmas coloring book.  We had a lovely dinner and then made beaded snowflakes to hang in our windows.  We were also able to watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning which was fun!

Ears Pierced

For Emma's 10th birthday she decided to get her ears pierced.  Lucy went along and got hers pierced too.  Emma chose green stones that resemble her birth stone.  Lucy chose little pink flowers with a diamond in the middle.  They both did great.  They were so very excited when the six weeks were up so they could start wearing different earrings!

Second Grade Hoe Down

The first and second graders at Clover Ridge do a unit each fall on square dancing.  They do a little performance for the parents which is always fun to watch.  They can dress in Western Wear...which we are always scrounging to find at our house!  Lucy had a great time though.  They perform a dance to 5 different songs.  It's always fun to see!

Halloween 2011

We had a little mishap with our computer and lost our entire folder of Halloween photos.  I was able to retrieve one of each of the girls and one of them together, but there are no pictures of the pumpkins this year.  Jeremy made Emma her costume...an iPod.  Lucy was a red M&M and Sophie was a cutie pie cupcake!  The weather was beautiful for trick or treating...if only it hadn't been a Monday night!  They always get just as excited to pass out candy as they do receiving it!
